With summer over, many career-high rankings established and plenty of potential shown, the Monte Carlo Tennis Academy players are looking to make further strides towards the top of the game during the Autumn, starting this week. ATP Tour player Wesley Moodie, who joined the Academy in June, has been drafted into the Great Britain Davis Cup set-up to help Tim Henman, Andy Murray and Jamie Murray prepare for their clash with Croatia later this week. He will practice with them at Wimbledon, and then go on to play Tour events in Mumbai and Tokyo before returning to Europe. Anna Fitzpatrick and Ana Veselinovic have both been training with MCTA coach Antony Hampson in the UK for two weeks, part of which was a two-day trip to London where they had the privilege of working with Louis Cayer. Cayer is widely recognised as the best doubles coach in the world. “This was an excellent two days and we would like to thank Louis for both his time and first class expertise. We would also like to thank the LTA again for their hospitality at Roehampton,” said MCTA Director of Coaching, David Sammel. Fitzpatrick and Veselinovic will now play two tournaments in Nottingham starting with a 10k Futures event, followed by a Challenger before moving on to three Challengers in the United States. Ilija Vucic has gone to Florida for a month to train on and off the court so that he is in the best possible shape for two Futures tournaments in Texas in the run-up to the Orange Bowl in early December. |
