Jade Curtis

Jade Curtis currently at a career high of 325 in the world has decided Bath is the best place for her to move forward. The new partnership between the MCTA and TeamBath gives her the perfect combination of travelling with the experience of David Sammel and the touring academy coaches as well as the chance to return to Bath where she spent a lot of time training as a junior when it was an LTA Academy.

"Jade joining us is exactly in line with the vision Barry (Scollo) and I have for the future of MCTATeamBath. We give an additional choice to pro players and international juniors with expert support for a small number of touring players. We want and expect a couple of European players to join to us as we continue to build an International Touring Team. This is a smooth transition for Jade given the excellent working relationship that exists between Bath and Roehampton. Jade did well there but circumstances change, needs change so it is healthy that players have good options" said Sammel. Scollo reinforced the move, adding "Jade is a promising player with a hard work ethic who will add depth to the programme and inspire the younger female players on the team. We are looking forward to working with her towards her goal of rising up the ranking list".

In other news Naomi Broady qualified for the 100K tournament in Midland MI, then again this week in Hammond La, USA after a 2 week physical block with Roxanne. Her target of top 250 in the next 2 months is a priority and hopefully she can get on a run this week and make the back end of another Challenger. Anna Fitzpatrick was unsuccessful in her 1st tournament back after 7 months. "This will be a slow process of gaining confidence in her foot and then her game. Once she moves freely without hesitation and fear of pain the process will speed up" revealed David Sammel.

The young guns are currently at the ITF in Luxembourg. Jim Edgar and Ian Macdonald are working the players and results are mixed, but mostly positive.
